UK’s ‘trip-hop’ pioneers, Massive Attack, next month return to Australia to play a national tour including one Adelaide show.

Thanks to confirmation that the brand new Adelaide Entertainment Centre Theatre will open on time, MCP can confirm that Massive Attack will be the first international band to perform in the more intimate confines of Adelaide's newest venue.

Massive Attack will now be the first concert staged in the new, 2500 person intimate capacity venue.

There is no change to the show date – Sunday March 21. There is no need for ticket exchange.

The AEC Theatre is located next door to the Entertainment Centre.

Reserved seat ticket holders: All patrons holding reserved seat tickets for the main arena will be guaranteed tiered seating in the new theatre. Your exact seat allocation will be determined on a first in, first seated basis when you arrive on the night. Doors will open at 7:00pm.

Massive Attack founding members Robert Del Naja (3D) and Grant Marshall (Daddy G) will be joined on tour by vocalists Horace Andy, Deborah Miller, Martina Topley-Bird, and band members Damon Reece (drums), Angelo Bruschini (guitar), John Baggott (keyboards), Winston Blissett (bass) and Julien Brown (drums).

Supporting Massive Attack on tour, as well as appearing on stage with them, is Martina Topley-Bird. Martina came to the fore providing the feminine touch on Tricky’s landmark album Maxinquaye, plus three follow-up albums, her eerie soft vocals contrasting with Tricky’s menacing mutterings.

On February 5 Massive Attack released their 5th studio album, Heligoland (EMI). The album features guests Damon Albarn, Hope Sandoval, Martina Topley-Bird, Tunde Adebimpe of TV On The Radio, Elbow’s Guy Garvey, Portishead’s Adrian Utley and long time associate, ragga-reggae veteran Horace Andy.

All patrons purchasing tickets for Massive Attack's Australian and New Zealand dates have the option of including a copy of their brand new album Heligoland at no extra cost. Ticket buyers have the choice between receiving a digital download of the album with six bonus tracks, or a physical Tour Edition featuring an exclusive cover.

This offer expires at midnight on Sunday February 28. Ticket buyers purchasing after February 28 will have the opportunity to purchase Heligoland at the special discounted price of $15.00.
